Twelve Delightful gardens will be opened from 1.00 to 5.00 pm
After a successful first Open Gardens in 2015, Berwick St James is offering visitors the chance to see 12 attractive gardens – large and small – all offering something different to savour: amazing varieties of roses, rare plants, winning cottage gardens, unusual trees, wildflower settings and much more.
Nestled in the River Till valley, Berwick St James is a lovely tranquil village, which has not changed much over the decades. Many of the gardens have stunning views of the valley, wet meadows and ancient woodland while others have river frontage offering diverse wildlife.
There will be a barbeque with refreshments (from midday), an arts and crafts exhibition, teas and delicious cakes by the riverside, a wonderful selection of plants will be on sale and a raffle on Sunday 24th June.
