Wiltshire Council, in conjunction with Salisbury Cathedral is presenting a magnificent Magna Carta Pageant on Monday 15th June at 7.00pm. All eighteen areas of Wiltshire have been asked to attend, and each group will have their own specially made 3 metre “Baron” to carry with them. Wiltshire Mayors and councillors have also been invited to showcase each area’s special qualities and these groups can be up to 20 people. The procession will go through the City and end up in the Cathedral where there will be Magna Carta events, including, theatre, music, choirs, and dancing and the evening will end with a spectacular fireworks display at 10.00pm.
The event is free to the public and should be one of the best occasions ever seen in Salisbury.
South West Wiltshire Area is being represented by a team from Wilton, who will collect their “Baron” in May and have time to decorate him for the Pageant. If anyone would like to be involved please contact Gary Nunn 01722 744949.
